Goodbye winter and hello spring
The tulips and daffodils are in bloom, so shake off the grey gloom and embrace the season in all its bright, vibrant beauty. As we come out of winter, into spring, there has never been a better time to decorate and freshen up your home in preparation for the warmer months. We have come up with our top tips on how to incorporate the spring season into your holiday homes
Let the spring air in
First things first; open those windows. Allow fresh air to circulate throughout your home. It’s something we’ve been missing out on while hiding under our blankets. Let the sounds of spring be carried inside through an open window. The sound of birds chirping will do wonders for your mental health
Bringing the spring colours in
Adding a touch of spring to your dining table can bring the room to life ✨ Set your table with a bright assortment of linens, plates and accessories (they don’t have to match!) Even something as simple as a floral scarf could be used as a tablecloth. Don’t forget to coordinate your flowers with your new table
set up. This will help bring the vibrant spring tones into the comfort of your own holiday home
The smell of spring
If spring scents are your taste, floral diffusers are the perfect way to bring them into your ABI. There’s a scent for everyone, whether you prefer the aroma of sweet honeysuckle, vibrant orange flowers, or romantic roses
Reed diffusers are ideal for smaller spaces. A few drops of scented oils combined with a diffuser can make a big difference. They’re ideal if you have little children because you can leave the diffusers to continue to fill the room with fragrance, while keeping them out of reach of small hands.
DIY spring wreaths:
Welcome spring the right way by creating a fresh wreath for your front door. When creating your wreath, make the most of the spring flowers. Tulip blooms enjoy being paired with other spring-blooming bulbs like daffodils and grape hyacinth, but they also love perennials like asters and Hosta.
Whether you’re shopping for artificial flowers, dried herbs and botanicals, or eager to DIY your own wreath with fresh florals, this is the best way to say goodbye to winter and welcome spring
Update your furnishings
It’s not just the birds that are busy caring for their nests now that spring has arrived. Spring is the time of year to freshen up our homes and change our accessories to accommodate the slightly warmer weather ⛅ Add a touch of spring to your ABI by swapping out your heavy curtains for
lightweight linen curtains in cool neutrals or fresh pastels. Cushion covers are a simple yet effective way to update the look and feel of a room without having to completely redecorate it. If you know how to use a sewing machine, they can be very simple to make, or if not, a quick trip to the charity shop to upcycle some second-hand covers can be just as fun!
